For the price, the minor quibbles most people mention are not a problem for me at all - a few of the brushes needed the tips trimmed off because they were uneven, a few of the colors are transparent and need more coats or to be used for stained-window-like effects Instead of posting nail art, I'm posting pics of swatches.
These swatches are on clear plastic Shany nail art set 24 famous colors a piece of white paper held behind them. The first three are in indirect sunlight and the second three in direct sunlight.
Each color was given two coats. Some of the colors are more transparent than others, and need to have a solid light color polish base underneath them. The pearl colors are very opaque.
So I would not really trust the 5 star reviews as this product came with a bribe, give them 5 stars and get a free gift.
Here is my honest review. Yes you can use these as regular nail polish even with the thin brushes, the creme colors are not very opaque they require a white base and multiple layers. The glitter and shimmer polishes are really good though, don't require a white base and are opaque in 2 coats if not 1.
I would say they are comparable to LA Color but not completely I'm including a picture of the bribe.
I would recommend these, great as a gift or for someone that is going threw a nail polish obsession like I am. Some of them are very thin.
So thin that they are just like regular polishes. I test stamped the white over black polish and it came out more grey and the white is one of the thicker ones. They may be better to use with a sponge for graduate designs? I have not tried that yet. So far not too happy with them.
